Massachusetts Governor Election: AP Projects Healey Wins Re-election

Tuesday, November 3, 2026 · States · GSM News

The Associated Press projected on the evening of November 3 that Democratic incumbent Governor Maura Healey has won re-election in Massachusetts, defeating Republican challenger Michael Minogue.

When the AP made the call, 55 of Massachusetts's 2,384 precincts had reported, or 2.31%. Healey had 62,647 votes, Minogue 10,222, and independent candidate Andrea James 2,891, with an estimated 2.62% of the total vote counted. Counting is continuing; the figures are unofficial and final results are subject to certification by the Secretary of the Commonwealth.

Healey was first elected governor of Massachusetts in 2022 after serving two terms as the state's attorney general. This year's Massachusetts ballot also carried nine statewide ballot questions, tying a state record.

Massachusetts's capital is Boston. The governor's race was held statewide on the same day as the federal Senate and House elections.
