Maryland Governor Election: AP Projects Moore Wins Re-election

The Associated Press projected on the evening of November 3, shortly after polls closed in Maryland, that Democratic incumbent Governor Wes Moore has won re-election, defeating Republican challenger Dan Cox.
When the AP made the call, Maryland vote totals had not yet begun to be reported. Other candidates on the ballot included Andy Ellis of the Green Party and Cathy White of the Working Class Party. Counting is proceeding, and results are subject to certification by the State Board of Elections.
Moore was first elected governor of Maryland in 2022. Cox, a former state delegate who was also the Republican nominee for governor in 2022, faced Moore in a rematch.
Maryland's capital is Annapolis. The election also covered all of the state's U.S. House seats and multiple state offices.
