Wyoming Governor Election: AP Projects Eric Barlow Wins

The Associated Press projected on the evening of November 3 that Republican Eric Barlow has won Wyoming's governor election, defeating Democratic candidate Kenneth Casner and Constitution Party candidate Rebecca Bextel. Barlow will succeed term-limited Governor Mark Gordon.
The AP called the race as polls closed. Its earliest results snapshot showed 21 of Wyoming's 432 precincts reporting, or 4.86%, with an estimated 12.01% of the vote counted. Barlow had 15,961 votes, Casner 4,061 and Bextel 3,923. Counting is continuing; the figures are unofficial and final results are subject to certification by state election officials.
Barlow, a veterinarian and rancher from Gillette, is a longtime Wyoming lawmaker who served as speaker of the state House before moving to the state Senate in 2023. He won the Republican nomination in August over state Superintendent of Public Instruction Megan Degenfelder and others.
The governor's race was held statewide on the same day as the U.S. Senate and U.S. House elections, with Cheyenne as the state capital. The AP also projected Republican Harriet Hageman the winner of Wyoming's U.S. Senate race the same evening.
