South Burlington, a city in Chittenden County, Vermont — The Vermont State Police Williston barracks said in a news release on November 3 that a single-vehicle crash at 9:36 p.m. on the Interstate 189 westbound on-ramp north, near Interstate 89 north in South Burlington, killed Tyler Goodrich, 34.

Troopers said Goodrich, of South Hero, was driving a 2018 Ram 1500 pickup north on the ramp when it traveled off the roadway into the right-side ditch and struck a bridge pillar. He was not wearing a seat belt and was unresponsive when troopers and South Burlington Fire and EMS members arrived; he was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the truck was totaled with major front-end damage. The weather was clear and the road dry at the time.

State police said the initial investigation indicated that neither impairment nor speed appeared to be a factor, and that the investigation remains ongoing; anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call the Vermont State Police Williston barracks at 802-878-7111. The case number is 26A1008269 and the investigating trooper is Shawn Cavic.
