Former YouTuber EDP445 Arrested in Las Vegas: Charged With Four Felonies in Kern County, California

Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · Society · GSM News

Former YouTube creator Bryant Moreland, better known as EDP445, was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 4, according to a statement from the Kern County District Attorney's Office and multiple news reports. Prosecutors in Kern County, California, filed four felony charges against him on November 2, stemming from a 2021 civilian sting in Bakersfield, Kern County, in which he allegedly contacted an account presenting itself as a 13-year-old and traveled to an arranged meeting.

The four charges are attempted lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, going to an arranged meeting with a minor, contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense, and sending pornography with intent to seduce a minor. The list appears consistently in court documents obtained by TMZ and in reporting by Bakersfield station KGET and other outlets. Moreland was taken into custody with assistance from Las Vegas police and will be transported back to Kern County, with extradition proceedings expected in the coming weeks.

In its statement, the Kern County District Attorney's Office said that, in light of statements Moreland made in a documentary this year, the office and the Kern County Sheriff's Office reopened the investigation and, after reviewing the new evidence, determined that the evidentiary threshold for filing criminal charges had been met. Prosecutors also said the 2021 investigation had stalled because the reporting parties did not cooperate.

The case dates to April 2021, when the civilian group Predator Poachers arranged for an adult decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl to communicate with Moreland online. Moreland arrived at the Pineridge Apartment Complex in east Bakersfield and was confronted on camera, in footage that spread widely online. He said at the scene that he was only there to pick up a cupcake, and the episode became known online as the cupcake incident. His YouTube channels were later removed, and no charges were filed at the time.

In 2026, director Mike Clum's documentary The Sick Mind of EDP445 revisited the case. In an interview with To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen, Moreland acknowledged that he had shown up that day intending to meet an underage girl. Hansen said those on-camera statements gave prosecutors the information they needed to seek an arrest warrant. Clum has said proceeds from the film will be donated to RAINN, an anti-sexual-violence organization.

Moreland first built a following of millions of subscribers with exuberant rant videos about the Philadelphia Eagles. No dates for extradition or further court proceedings have been announced, and Moreland is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
