Lions Linebacker Jack Campbell Issues Statement: Full Movement Restored in His Lower Body

Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · Sports · GSM News

Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell, in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, issued a statement through the team on November 4 updating fans on his recovery. Campbell said he has full movement in his lower body, is continuing to make progress with movement in his upper body, and remains very optimistic about his recovery.

Campbell was injured on November 1 against the Minnesota Vikings, when his head hit tight end T.J. Hockenson's hip on the first play of the fourth quarter. He fell to the ground and was taken to an ambulance on a backboard, delaying the game for about 10 minutes. Head coach Dan Campbell said at his news conference that Jack Campbell's status is changing every eight to ten hours, in a good way.

Campbell remains in the hospital. The team said it will honor him by preparing the way he prepares. Campbell, 26, signed a four-year, $81 million contract with the Lions in May, with $51.4 million guaranteed.
