Former Greensburg, Kansas Police Chief Arrested November 3 on Child Sex Crime Charges

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation arrested former Greensburg police chief Aaron J. Webb on the evening of November 3 on charges involving sexual abuse of a child. KBI Communications Director Melissa Underwood said KBI agents and Bel Aire police officers arrested Webb at about 6:40 p.m. at his home in Bel Aire, Sedgwick County. Webb, 33, was arrested on an outstanding Kiowa County warrant charging two counts of battery, two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, and, in the alternative, one count of indecent liberties with a child.
Webb was booked into the Ford County Jail in Dodge City on $75,000 bond. The Kiowa County Sheriff's Office asked the KBI for help in January 2025 after allegations arose that Webb had sexually abused a child. The criminal complaint alleges the crimes occurred in September 2022 and May 2023. Webb resigned as Greensburg police chief in November 2023. Greensburg is a Kiowa County city of about 740 people that rebuilt after an EF-5 tornado killed 11 people in May 2007.
The case is in its early stages and no court date has been announced. The KBI said the investigation is led by Kiowa County with KBI assistance. Law enforcement reminds victims and families in cases involving minors that they can contact local law enforcement or child protection agencies, and that reports are kept confidential as required by law.
