Domestic Violence Shooting in Spangle, Spokane County, Washington Leaves 3 Dead, Two Deputies Critically Injured

A domestic violence shooting in Spangle, Spokane County, Washington, on the afternoon of November 3 left three people dead, including the suspect, and two Spokane County sheriff's deputies critically injured; the case was followed up by media on November 4.
According to USA TODAY's November 4 report, Spokane County Sheriff John Nowels said at a news conference that deputies responded at about 2:30 p.m. on November 3 to a domestic violence call at a home, after a woman ran to a neighbor's house for help saying her brother had shot her and other people were still inside. At about 3:15 p.m., SWAT members and deputies approaching the home and attempting to breach the door were met with gunfire. Deputies then found one person dead in the yard and another dead just inside the front door; the suspect was also dead. The woman who sought help was treated at a hospital for a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening, and the sheriff's office said the suspect had an active felony warrant. As of November 4, the identities of the dead and the suspect had not been released and the motive remained under investigation.
Both injured SWAT members remained in critical condition as of November 4. The Spokane Police Department is leading the homicide investigation, with assistance from the Washington State Patrol. The sheriff's office said the incident began as a domestic violence call and deputies came under fire after responding quickly. Further details, including the victims' identities and the full sequence of events, are still to be released by police.
