Phoenix Musical Instrument Museum Opens Ancient Chinese Instruments Exhibition November 6 With 10 Grade One Relics

The Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix opens its new special exhibition, "Unearthed Musical Masterpieces from the Southern Kingdoms of Ancient China," on November 6, presenting more than 70 ancient musical instruments and associated objects excavated in China, including 10 Grade One National Cultural Relics, China's highest designation for national treasures.
Organized by MIM and the Hubei Provincial Museum under the guidance of China's National Cultural Heritage Administration, the exhibition features bronze bells, drums and stone chimes reflecting the musical culture and casting craft of ancient China's southern kingdoms. More than 40 of the artifacts are on display in the United States for the first time.
MIM, in Phoenix, is one of the world's largest museums devoted to musical instruments.
