Thursday Night Preview: Ravens Down to Rookie QB Fagnano as Jaguars Visit Favored by Nine

Thursday, November 5, 2026 · Sports · GSM News

Week 9 of the NFL season opens Thursday at 8:15 p.m. ET at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, where the Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2) visit the Baltimore Ravens (4-4) on Prime Video. ESPN Analytics gives Jacksonville an 80.9 percent win probability, and oddsmakers have installed the Jaguars as nine-point road favorites.

Baltimore is in a quarterback crisis. Lamar Jackson is on injured reserve after thumb surgery; he was hurt on the first offensive play of the Week 8 loss at Buffalo, 36-10. Backup Tyler Huntley is out for the season after turf toe surgery. Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano will make his first NFL start after throwing for about 91 yards in relief last week.

The Ravens agreed a trade for veteran Jacoby Brissett on Wednesday, but he will not play Thursday and is expected to debut in Week 10 on Monday, November 16 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Baltimore's offense will lean on Derrick Henry, whose 158 carries lead the NFL, with 632 yards and eight touchdowns; in 15 career games against Jacksonville he has 1,564 yards and 16 scores.

Jacksonville routed Indianapolis 42-7 last week but has its own injury concerns: leading rusher Bhayshul Tuten (110 carries, 492 yards, three touchdowns) is questionable with ankle and foot issues, defensive end Travon Walker (rib) is questionable, and DaVon Hamilton and Eric Murray are on season-ending injured reserve. Ravens safety Jaylinn Hawkins (knee) is out. Pittsburgh and Tennessee are on bye this week.
