Skepta Returns with The Fork and Knife on November 6, First Solo Album in Seven Years

British grime pioneer Skepta releases his new solo album The Fork and Knife on November 6 through his Big Smoke Records imprint and Epic — his first solo album in seven years, following 2019's Ignorance Is Bliss. The 15-track set takes its title from a family story his mother told about his grandfather: the determination that the family would one day be able to eat with a fork and knife, a symbol of a Nigerian immigrant family's climb in Britain.
Musically the record reaches beyond grime into garage, jungle and electronic territory while exploring dual cultural identity. Singles so far are "Innocent Smile," released September 18 with Chase & Status and Suggs, and "Pandora's Box" on October 23, both performed on BBC's Later… with Jools Holland on November 1.
Skepta plays an intimate release-night show at The Cause in London on November 6, followed by small European dates in Paris on December 1, Brussels on December 2 and Amsterdam on December 4.
