Thursday, November 5, 2026 · Sports · GSM News

Four games were played in the NHL on Wednesday night. Beyond the Kings' 7-2 rout of the Sharks, the Florida Panthers beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-3 in Sunrise, the Ottawa Senators rallied past the Buffalo Sabres 2-1, and the Seattle Kraken edged the Calgary Flames 2-1 in overtime.

At Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, Sandis Vilmanis scored twice and added two assists for the first multipoint game of his NHL career. Florida led 3-0 before Frank Nazar scored twice in the third to pull Chicago within 4-3; Sam Reinhart's empty-net goal sealed it. Chicago has lost four straight and remains the league's only winless road team.

At KeyBank Center in Buffalo, Peyton Krebs' first goal of the season gave the Sabres a 1-0 lead into the third period, but Shane Pinto and Michael Amadio scored in the final frame to lift Ottawa to a 2-1 win and a 10-6 record.

At Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Berkly Catton scored the overtime winner and Joey Daccord backstopped the Kraken to a 2-1 victory over Calgary, improving Seattle to 9-5.
