Wembanyama Erupts for 52 Points, 24 Rebounds, 8 Blocks: Spurs Edge Mavericks 112-111
Victor Wembanyama delivered a monster performance with 52 points, 24 rebounds and eight blocks as the San Antonio Spurs held off the Dallas Mavericks 112-111 on Wednesday night at Frost Bank Center in a Texas showdown.
Wembanyama had 29 points, 15 rebounds and seven blocks by halftime, when San Antonio led 68-51; the Spurs' advantage reached 19 points. Dylan Harper added 21 points for the hosts.
Dallas stormed back in the fourth quarter behind Kyrie Irving's 29 points, Naji Marshall's 22 and P.J. Washington's 21, using a 10-0 run to tie the game at 100. The Spurs steadied in the final possessions to escape by a single point.
It was another signature outing in Wembanyama's dominant season, while Dallas earned respect for a furious late rally that fell just short.
