COGIC's 118th Holy Convocation Returns to St. Louis: November 3-10, With a Projected $250 Million Regional Economic Impact Over Three Years

Thursday, November 5, 2026 · Faith · GSM News

The 118th Holy Convocation of the Church Of God In Christ (COGIC) opened on November 3 in St. Louis, Missouri, at the America's Center Convention Complex, 701 Convention Plaza, and runs through November 10 under the theme "Answering The Call."

Explore St. Louis, the city's tourism authority, projects the convocation will generate about $250 million in regional economic impact over the next three years. COGIC is one of the largest Pentecostal denominations in the United States, with more than 12,000 churches in 106 countries; last year's convocation drew more than 3.2 million online and livestream views across Facebook, YouTube and cogic.org combined.

COGIC is led by Presiding Bishop J. Drew Sheard. The denomination was founded in 1907 by Bishop Charles Harrison Mason and is headquartered at the historic Mason Temple in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Holy Convocation is COGIC's largest annual gathering, combining worship, preaching, elections and denominational business, and it is a significant driver of hotel, restaurant and retail business for the host city. St. Louis has hosted the gathering many times, and this year marks another in-person return to the city.
