Missouri Baptists Meet in St. Charles: 61 North American Mission Board Church Planters Now Work in the State, Double the Number Four Years Ago

The Pathway, the official news journal of the Missouri Baptist Convention, reported on November 4 that the convention's annual meeting brought several hundred messengers, guests and exhibitors to the St. Charles Convention Center in St. Charles, Missouri, on October 26-27.
Church planting was a major theme. Jason Zellmer, who leads SEND Missouri, told the meeting that 61 church planters endorsed by the North American Mission Board (NAMB) now work in Missouri, twice the number of four years ago. Churches also shared mission stories: children at Green Valley Baptist Church in St. Joseph gave $4,500 through their Vacation Bible School offering, which bought 60 goats for a village in the developing world through SEND Relief.
An out-of-state partnership reported progress as well: Missouri Baptists partner with Lame Deer Church on the Cheyenne reservation in Montana, which provides free water locally and recently saw seven baptisms and four professions of faith.
In convention business, the board of Baptist Homes and Healthcare Ministries voted to dissolve and sell several care centers, with its Ozark and Ashland campuses transferring to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home to continue ministry to seniors.
