Bose Recalls 634,759 Speaker Battery Packs; Baby Brezza Sterilizer Dryers and Gourmia Air Fryer Ovens Also Recalled

Thursday, November 5, 2026 · Life · GSM News

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) posted a new batch of recalls on November 5: Bose is recalling about 634,759 lithium-ion battery packs for its S1 Pro and S1 Pro+ portable Bluetooth speaker systems, with about 35,400 more sold in Canada; Baby Brezza is recalling about 29,000 SuperFast Sterilizer Dryers; and Gourmia is recalling 175,951 nine-slice digital air fryer ovens. The three recalls involve fire, overheating and burn hazards.

The Bose recall, number 27-065, covers battery packs that can overheat and ignite. The firm has received seven reports of the battery packs melting, producing smoke or catching fire, including six reports of property damage; no injuries have been reported. The recalled packs carry 17-digit serial numbers printed on a label on the bottom of the pack, beginning with one of these six-digit prefixes: 083723, 078352, 084105, 078591, 078592, 084106 or 086409. The packs were sold at Bose, Best Buy and other stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Bose.com, BestBuy.com, Walmart.com and other websites from December 2017 through July 2026, with the S1 Pro and S1 Pro+ speaker systems and separately as accessories or replacement parts, for between $100 and $160 for the individual packs; the speaker systems sold with the packs for $700. The importer is Bose Corporation, of Framingham, Massachusetts, and the packs were manufactured in China.

CPSC says consumers should remove the recalled battery packs from any S1 Pro and S1 Pro+ speakers and stop using the packs immediately; once a pack is removed, the speakers may be used while connected to AC power. Consumers who register and provide the pack's serial number on Bose's recall site will receive a free replacement battery pack. Recalled lithium-ion batteries must not go in household trash, curbside recycling or retail battery-recycling boxes; they should be taken to a municipal household hazardous waste collection center. Bose can be reached toll-free at 800-278-1083.

The Baby Brezza SuperFast Sterilizer Dryer recall, number 27-072, covers model numbers BRZ0083, BRZ0154 and BRZ0156, printed on the product label on the bottom of the unit. The countertop appliance uses push-button controls to sterilize and dry baby bottles, breast pump parts and accessories in ten minutes, but the recalled units can overheat when plugged in and operating, posing a burn hazard if the surface is handled. The firm has received 32 reports of the sterilizer dryers overheating or the plastic housing melting; no injuries have been reported. The units were sold at TJ Maxx and Marshall's stores nationwide and online at babybrezza.com, target.com and babylist.com from January 2024 through October 2026 for between $160 and $180, with about 4,500 more sold in Canada. The importer is Baby Brezza Enterprises LLC, of Newark, New Jersey, and the units were manufactured in China.

CPSC says consumers should stop using the recalled sterilizer dryers immediately and contact Baby Brezza Enterprises for a free replacement, including shipping. After registering, consumers will be asked to unplug the product, cut the power cord to destroy it, and send photos of the model-number label, the destroyed appliance and the return authorization number to [email protected], then dispose of the unit under local ordinances. Baby Brezza can be reached toll-free at 888-527-9824.

Also in the same batch, Gourmia is recalling 175,951 nine-slice digital air fryer ovens whose doors can unexpectedly close when consumers retrieve food, posing a burn hazard. Gourmia has received 57 reports of the oven doors closing unexpectedly, resulting in 40 incidents of burns to consumers' hands or wrists. Consumers should stop using the recalled ovens immediately and contact Gourmia for a free repair kit containing an added doorstop and installation instructions. Gourmia can be reached toll-free at 888-834-0092.
