Pasadena Rental Registration Late Fees Begin November 8: Up to 50%, or $118.27 More Per Unit

The Rent Stabilization Department (RSD) of Pasadena, in Los Angeles County, California, reminded property owners on November 5 that late fees for the 2026 Rental Registration cycle will begin on Sunday, November 8, and urged owners who have not yet completed registration to use the remaining grace period.
The annual registration period ended October 31, with a seven-day grace period extending through Saturday, November 7. Beginning November 8, unpaid registration fees will draw additional charges on top of the annual Rental Housing Fee of $236.54 per unit: 15% ($35.48 per unit) from November 8 to December 15, 2026; 30% ($70.96 per unit) from December 16, 2026 to January 29, 2027; and 50% ($118.27 per unit) from January 30, 2027 onward.
Owners can complete registration through the city's Rental Registry portal, submitting property and rental unit information and paying the fee unless exempt; properties or units that may qualify for an exemption can apply through the Registry for RSD review. Payments must be made in full: online by credit card or e-check, or in person at Pasadena Municipal Services, 100 N. Garfield Ave., Room N106, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., with a copy of the registration invoice; payments are not accepted at the RSD office. The RSD can be reached at (626) 744-7999.
