Friday, November 6, 2026 · States · GSM News

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Arkansas Forward, Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders's initiative to cut $300 million in government spending by the end of 2030 through financial efficiencies and savings, has identified an additional $23.4 million in reduced contract spending, the state announced on November 5. The new savings bring the initiative's verified total to $158 million — more than halfway to its goal.

In procurement and vendor management, the state is reassessing how it negotiates and renews contracts to drive down costs.

The Arkansas Forward dashboard gives taxpayers the ability to follow that progress in real time through a downloadable public dataset, showing where state employees are delivering more value, improving efficiency and identifying opportunities to save taxpayer dollars.
