Follow-Up: Ravens Finalize Brissett Trade as Compensation Is Revealed and Both Quarterbacks Land on Injured Reserve

The Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 6 officially completed their trade with the Arizona Cardinals for quarterback Jacoby Brissett, and the previously undisclosed draft-pick compensation was revealed the same day. GSM reported on Nov. 4 that Arizona's head coach had confirmed the teams were finalizing the deal, with compensation not yet announced and completion expected after Thursday night's game.
Under the compensation reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, Baltimore receives Brissett and a 2027 fifth-round pick, while Arizona receives a 2027 fourth-round pick and a 2028 seventh-round pick — in effect, the Ravens moved down one round in 2027 and added a late pick to land a veteran quarterback they urgently needed.
Baltimore's quarterback crisis deepened this week: starter Lamar Jackson and backup Tyler Huntley, both hurt in the earlier loss to the Buffalo Bills, were placed on injured reserve on Thursday. The Ravens then fell to 4-5 with a 33-10 Thursday night loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Brissett, 33, started the Cardinals' first eight games this season, throwing for 1,719 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions, before being demoted to third string earlier this week. He has made 73 career NFL starts and is expected to make his Ravens debut on Monday, Nov. 16, against the Los Angeles Chargers. (Source: Baltimore Ravens, ESPN)
