Hmong Cultural Center Museum to Launch Little Mekong Photo Exhibit in December

The Hmong Cultural Center Museum in St. Paul, Minnesota, announced the launch of a new photo exhibit in December documenting the early history of the Little Mekong business strip on University Avenue.
The photos in the exhibit document the Hmong and Southeast Asian businesses and institutions that had emerged by January 1994 along the 300 to 500 blocks of University Avenue and nearby Rice Street. The Hmong Cultural Center said the unique, previously unseen exhibit will let viewers reflect on the more than four-decade history of the Little Mekong neighborhood, the oldest Hmong and Southeast Asian business and institutional district in the Twin Cities and home to the Hmong Cultural Center and its museum.
Little Mekong is a commercial and cultural landmark of St. Paul's Hmong community. The Hmong Cultural Center is a nonprofit serving the local Hmong community, with a museum and programs including ESL and citizenship classes.
