St. Louis Prices About $460 Million in Lambert Airport Bonds, the City's Largest-Ever Single Transaction

Saturday, November 7, 2026 · Cities · GSM News

The city of St. Louis announced on Nov. 6 that it has priced and sold about $460 million in Series 2026 airport revenue bonds to fund approved capital projects at St. Louis Lambert International Airport over the coming years. It is the largest single bond transaction in the city's history and an important milestone in its continued investment in Lambert Airport.

The financing team led by Comptroller Donna M.C. Baringer ran the sale. The city said the bonds drew more than $4 billion in orders from investors and fund managers nationwide, nearly nine times the issue size, signaling investor confidence in the St. Louis regional economy. Proceeds will fund approved airport capital improvements over the coming years but will not include the consolidated terminal project; the bonds are expected to close on Nov. 24.

Lambert International Airport is an enterprise fund department of the city, operated by the city-owned Airport Authority. The city said the issuance establishes a long-term financing structure supporting the airport's infrastructure and capital needs, giving improvements to runways, terminals and related facilities stable funding over the coming years.
