Saints Announce Six Roster Moves; No. 8 Pick Tyson Set for Sunday Debut

The New Orleans Saints announced six roster moves on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 7, in final preparation for their Week 9 home game against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Nov. 8. Most watched is this year's first-round No. 8 overall pick, wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, officially activated from injured reserve to make his NFL debut on Sunday.
Tyson, 22, out of Arizona State, missed the Saints' first seven games and most of the preseason with a hamstring injury. The Saints drafted him eighth overall this year hoping he would boost the passing game as a deep target for second-year quarterback Tyler Shough. His high school coach and his Arizona State head coach, Hines Ward, have said they will send a special message after Tyson's first career catch.
The Saints also activated left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr., who severely sprained his ankle in Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens, underwent surgery, went on injured reserve Sept. 23, and was a limited participant in all three practices this week. The team also waived running back Kendre Miller and tight end Treyton Welch, and elevated running back Zamir White and kicker Charlie Smyth from the practice squad. The Saints are 2-5 and the Browns 5-3, each one game behind their division leaders.
