About 7,000 U.S. and Partner Troops Enter Force-on-Force Training in Hawaii at JPMRC 27-01

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii — After days of preparation and staging across the Hawaiian archipelago, U.S. Army forces and their multinational partners have transitioned into active, force-on-force maneuver training during Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) Rotation 27-01, the Army announced on November 5.
The rotation involves approximately 7,000 personnel. Alongside U.S. forces, troops from the Republic of Korea, Singapore, France, New Zealand, Japan and the Maldives are training together to refine the joint capabilities and tactics required to operate in jungle and archipelagic terrain during large-scale combat operations. The 2nd Mobile Brigade of the 25th Infantry Division is the principal ground maneuver force.
The Army said the exercise has shifted from reception, staging and onward integration into its first battle period, testing the 25th Infantry Division's ability to seize and retain decisive terrain in a contested, multi-domain environment. "We are leveraging the condition setting and synchronization of warfighting functions to enable our Light Fighters to win in Close Combat," said Brig. Gen. Robert Bryant, the division's deputy commander for support.
Multinational integration is a central feature of the rotation. On Maui and Oahu, elements of France's 6th Light Armored Brigade are working with the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade to secure forward arming and refueling points, extending the reach of aviation assets across the island chain. Ground forces on Oahu and the Island of Hawaii are maneuvering simultaneously to secure initial objectives.
In the coming days, the 11th Airborne Division will execute a mass tactical airborne jump, a Joint Forcible Entry operation, into the Pōhakuloa Training Area to secure key infrastructure. The jump will be followed immediately by a long-range maritime air assault by the 25th Infantry Division, inserting infantry forces across the oceanic gap to reinforce the position. The Army said the rotation demonstrates its readiness and interoperability with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific. (Source: U.S. Army)
