Sunday, November 8, 2026 · Sports · GSM News

DALLAS, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys announced on November 7 that first-round rookie linebacker Malachi Lawrence has been placed on injured reserve and will miss at least four games. Lawrence, drafted 23rd overall out of UCF, severely sprained his ankle in the November 1 game against the Arizona Cardinals, and head coach Brian Schottenheimer had already said he could miss several weeks. Under the rules, Lawrence could return as early as Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks. Meanwhile, the Cowboys activated linebacker Marist Liufau, who broke his arm in the preseason finale and resumed practicing October 22; he could make his season debut Sunday. The team also elevated wide receiver Jordan Hudson and tight end James Mitchell from the practice squad. Dallas, 3-5, visits the 2-6 Indianapolis Colts at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 8; wide receiver Kavontae Turpin is out with a rib injury, and George Pickens is confirmed out with shoulder and ankle injuries.
