Exeter Girls Win New Hampshire Meet of Champions Team Title with 56 Points, Topping Hanover

HOPKINTON, New Hampshire — The Exeter High girls cross country team won the team title at the New Hampshire Meet of Champions, held November 7 at Hopkinton Fairgrounds, capping a historic season. Senior twins Lexi Patrick and Bree Patrick finished second and third individually, and all five Exeter scorers placed in the top 26 as the team won with 56 points. Hanover was second with 81, followed by Lebanon (107), Oyster River (129) and Concord (199). The top six teams advance to next weekend's New England Championships in Belfast, Maine, against the best teams from Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Vermont. On the boys side, Oyster River advanced both its boys and girls teams to New Englands, while the Exeter boys narrowly missed qualifying. Exeter's girls have been in fine form all season, and their coaches say the state title rewards years of training — with a bigger test awaiting in Maine.
