SALINA, Kan. — President Donald Trump's campaign rally in Salina, originally set for October 31 and announced as canceled on October 29, has been restored and moved to November 1, the Topeka Capital-Journal reported.

White House officials said October 30 that Trump will hold rallies in Kansas and Iowa on November 1, alongside nearly 20 tele-rallies, with the schedule adjusted to accommodate the added calls. Salina Airport Authority spokeswoman Kasey Windhorst confirmed the rescheduled rally will be held November 1 in a hangar at Salina Regional Airport; the updated event page lists doors at 3:30 p.m., a 5:30 p.m. start, and the president speaking at about 7 p.m.

The Republican National Committee had announced October 29 that the October 31 Salina rally for Senator Roger Marshall and a November 1 rally in Dubuque, Iowa, would be replaced by tele-rallies. Trump told reporters at the White House on October 30 that Republicans in both states had called asking him to come.

Kansas's Senate race has tightened unexpectedly: Democratic challenger Adam Hamilton leads Marshall in several polls, including a Washington Post survey released October 30 showing Hamilton ahead 52 percent to 43 percent. Republicans hope the visit lifts GOP turnout for the November 3 vote.
