Nebraska Senate Poll: Ricketts Leads Osborn 49% to 43%

A New York Times/Siena University poll of the Nebraska U.S. Senate race released October 31 shows Republican Senator Pete Ricketts leading independent challenger Dan Osborn 49 percent to 43 percent among likely voters, according to the Siena Research Institute.
The survey of 809 likely voters was conducted October 23–29 and carries a margin of error of about 4 points. In the same poll, Republican Governor Jim Pillen leads Democrat Lynne Walz 53 percent to 40 percent in the governor's race.
The poll also found 55 percent of likely voters see Osborn as more similar to Democrats, 4 percent see him as more similar to Republicans, and about a third view him as an independent. Osborn is campaigning as an outsider unbeholden to either party, but the results suggest many voters still associate him with the Democrats. Election Day is November 3.
