New Mexico Early Voting Closes With 378,000 Ballots Cast

Early voting in New Mexico ended October 31 with turnout tracking close to the last midterm. According to the Secretary of State's office, 378,049 ballots had been cast statewide as of October 30 — 200,045 by Democrats, 114,441 by Republicans and 60,535 by voters who declined to state a party, the Las Cruces Sun News reported.
In Doña Ana County, 34,555 voters had cast ballots. Cynthia Diaz, communications coordinator for the Doña Ana County Clerk's Office, told the paper that participation is comparable to the previous midterm cycle; in the 2022 gubernatorial year, 353,569 New Mexicans voted early and 262,954 voted on Election Day.
Expanded early voting began October 17. Polls on Election Day, November 3, are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and voters in line at 7 p.m. may still vote. Diaz reminded voters that this year's ballot is long and urged them to allow extra time and check their polling place in advance.
