Shapiro and Garrity Bring Governor's Race to Pennsylvania's Midstate in Final Push

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The final stretch of Pennsylvania's governor's race hit the Midstate on October 30, with Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro rallying supporters in Lancaster and Republican challenger Stacy Garrity, the state treasurer, campaigning at a small business in Mechanicsburg, local media reported. Garrity was joined by Congressman Scott Perry and state Senator Greg Rothman, the state Republican Party chairman.
Shapiro appeared in Lancaster with state Senator James Malone. He acknowledged that flipping the state Senate is a "jump ball" right now but said he is optimistic about election night. Republicans hold the state Senate 27–23, while Democrats control the state House 103–101. Shapiro is seeking a Democratic trifecta in Harrisburg, something the state has not seen since the early 1990s.
Polls show Shapiro with a double-digit lead over Garrity. Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis are spending the final 10 days of the campaign on a bus tour of 29 counties. Election Day is November 3.
