[Video] White House Posts 47-Second Reflecting Pool Clip: Trump Delivers Election-Eve Closing Remarks at the Restored Pool
The White House's official channel posted another short video on the evening of November 2, a 47-second clip titled "President Trump Gives Remarks at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool," capturing the event earlier that afternoon at which President Trump delivered his closing remarks by the restored and reopened Reflecting Pool, on the eve of the November 3 midterm elections. The official White House video is embedded on this page.
The clip's cover frame shows Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, whose department oversees the National Park Service, at the presidential podium. The podium stood at the edge of the pool, below the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, beside display boards showing aerial images of the renovated pool and the words "Back, and more beautiful than ever!"
In his remarks that day, Trump announced the formal reopening of the renovated Reflecting Pool. Holding up photographs of removed pipe fittings, he said the pool "is now better and more beautiful than it has ever been." The White House billed the address as the president's closing statement ahead of Election Day.
The White House has also released the full-length video of the remarks; GSM's complete report is linked in this story's timeline.
