New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno Heads to Paris for Historic Saints Game: Flood Resilience, Investment and Culture on the Agenda

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana — Mayor Helena Moreno of New Orleans, in Orleans Parish, Louisiana, departed on October 21 for a working visit to Paris, France, where she will officially represent the city during the historic New Orleans Saints game against the Pittsburgh Steelers while using the international spotlight to advance city priorities, her office announced.
Her agenda includes several key priorities: infrastructure and flood resilience, meeting Paris officials to learn firsthand about stormwater management, drainage and maintaining aging infrastructure, with a focus on lessons that could be applied in New Orleans; economic development and investment, meeting business leaders including representatives from the technology and international maritime and shipping sectors to explore investment and job opportunities; and international partnerships, strengthening ties with Paris city officials and meeting UNESCO leadership to discuss cultural connections. She will also take part in the New Orleans Jazz Museum Festival in Paris and other cultural events, and join Saints fans who traveled to Paris for the game.
The mayor's office said Moreno is personally paying for her travel expenses. All of her deputy mayors and the city's Chief Administrative Officer will remain in New Orleans throughout the visit, ensuring continuity of city operations. Moreno said the game puts an international spotlight on the city and that she wants to bring new ideas, partnerships and economic opportunities back home, and will report back to the public on the outcomes after she returns.
