Game 2 of the WNBA Finals ended on the night of October 19 at Chase Center in the San Francisco Bay Area, where the Atlanta Dream of Fulton County, Georgia, beat the Golden State Valkyries 79-65 on the road to level the best-of-seven series at 1-1. Dream star Angel Reese delivered a dominant performance with 30 points, 16 rebounds, three assists and two blocks, becoming the third player in WNBA Finals history, after Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones, to record at least 30 points and 15 rebounds in a Finals game, and the youngest ever to do so. Teammate Allisha Gray added 18 points and Jordin Canada had 13 points and 10 assists; Gabby Williams and Tiffany Hayes led Golden State with 14 points each. The Valkyries had edged Game 1, 68-64; in Game 2 a 15-2 third-quarter run put the Dream in control. It was the first Finals win in franchise history for Atlanta, which had been swept in each of its three previous Finals trips. Games 3 and 4 shift to State Farm Arena in Atlanta, with Game 3 on Wednesday night. Dream guard Rhyne Howard set a WNBA Finals single-game record with six steals as Atlanta totaled 14 steals as a team, and the Dream scored 24 points off Golden State's 19 turnovers, the Associated Press reported.
