Thursday, October 22, 2026 · States · GSM News

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear on Oct. 22 released 'Go Vote' information for the Nov. 3 general election, covering identification, early voting and Election Day arrangements.

Kentucky requires voters casting a ballot in person to show photo identification bearing their name and photograph. Registered voters who do not have an accepted form of ID can obtain a free Voter ID card at any of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's 35 Driver Licensing Regional Offices or at scheduled popup licensing events; through Nov. 3, staff will prioritize voter ID requests.

No-excuse in-person early voting runs Thursday, Oct. 29 through Saturday, Oct. 31, with locations and hours set by county and listed on the state voter information portal; the governor's office said Louisville will offer a drive-thru voting option. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time, and voters in line at 6 p.m. may still vote. Mail-in absentee ballots must be received by the county clerk by 6 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
