Follow-Up: Families Name All Seven Passengers Killed in Florida Learjet Crash as County Seeks Emergency Declaration

One day after a Learjet 60 crashed into a residential area in Greenacres, Palm Beach County, Florida, the families of the passengers issued a joint statement on Monday, November 2, naming all seven passengers killed: a family of four, the children's nanny and another couple. All nine people on board — two crew members and seven passengers — died in the November 1 crash.
The families identified the passengers as Adam Robinson, 45; his wife, Helen Sharp, 40; their children Emma, 2, and Charlie, 4; the children's nanny, Anita Maria Cetina; and a couple, Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr. "We are deeply grateful to the first responders, investigators, and the Palm Beach County community for their care, and to everyone who has reached out with love," the families wrote. "Our hearts are also with the families of the pilots, who are grieving alongside us."
Helen Sharp's father, Dudley Sharp, 70, of Texas, had confirmed earlier on Monday that his daughter, her husband and their two children were on the plane. "It's quite a blow," he said. Adam Robinson's father, Theodore Robinson, 77, also confirmed his son's identity and said authorities had not yet formally notified the family.
The names were released by the families themselves. County Administrator Joe Abruzzo said officials could give no timeline for formally identifying the victims, because positive identification of remains requires DNA matching, which he described as a lengthy process. The co-pilot had previously been confirmed by her family as Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, 20; the captain's name has not been released.
The crash has also displaced hundreds of residents. County Commissioner Joel Flores said about 100 homes near the crash site were evacuated and an estimated 400 to 600 people displaced. The Red Cross is caring for evacuees at the Greenacres Community Center, several dozen people are in a shelter and others are staying with relatives, and the county is exploring temporary housing, hotel vouchers and bus vouchers for residents whose cars were crushed by debris or left behind. Officials said on Monday they do not know when the evacuated residents can return.
Abruzzo said he has asked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to approve an executive order declaring a state of emergency, which would make the county eligible for funds to support displaced residents and nearby businesses. The mobile home park next to the crash site remains closed so federal investigators can collect debris and evidence, and officials gave no timeline for reopening the closed stretch of Military Trail, saying the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) must finish its on-site work and the road must be repaired and inspected.
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman also defended the co-pilot in a post on X on Monday, noting that Filgueiras was the second-in-command and was communicating with air traffic controllers shortly before the crash. "She was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation," he wrote, and he cautioned against drawing conclusions about the cause before investigators finish their work.
The NTSB investigation is continuing, and the cause of the crash has not been determined. This story is still developing.
