Follow-Up: Trump Rallies in Salina for Senator Marshall, Who Answers Medical-Debt Lawsuit Attacks

Monday, November 2, 2026 · States · GSM News

President Donald Trump held a rally in Salina, Saline County, Kansas, on the evening of November 1 to campaign for Republican Senator Roger Marshall's reelection. It was Trump's second visit to Kansas in two weeks and one of his final campaign stops before Election Day.

The Kansas News Service reported that Trump told the crowd he was wrapping up a long string of rallies for Republicans and said he had come to make sure Marshall got elected. Marshall's race against Democratic challenger Adam Hamilton is seen as potentially critical to control of the U.S. Senate.

A focal point of the race has been the medical-debt lawsuits Marshall filed against 700 of his former patients. The Kansas News Service reported that Marshall has now addressed the lawsuits directly in a video, saying his practice, like nearly every private practice, occasionally handed accounts to a collection agency and that his involvement ended at that point.

Separately, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly raised concerns about the federal government's election monitor plans, worried they could include immigration enforcement. The Trump administration says ICE will not serve as election monitors, though federal officials have not ruled out using the agency where there is an active public safety threat.

Early voting in Kansas ended at noon on November 2. Voters' final chance is Election Day, November 3, when polls must be open from at least 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
