Russian Strike Kills One in Kyiv, Hits Subway Station and 25-Storey Block; Zelenskiy Says US Has Resumed Intelligence Sharing

Kyiv — A Russian air strike killed a woman in Kyiv overnight and also hit a subway station on the left bank of the capital and damaged a 25-storey residential building, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram on Monday, according to Reuters. The attack, which also hit non-residential buildings and a medical facility, injured three other people in Kyiv, he said. A Reuters witness heard explosions in the city.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy also said that, after a brief pause, the United States has resumed sharing critical intelligence to help Ukraine defend against Russian missile strikes; GSM reported that development separately on October 18.
The overnight strike came as exchanges over energy infrastructure continued. Zelenskiy said on Sunday that Russia had attacked Ukraine's energy and oil and gas sectors 76 times in the week since US President Donald Trump announced an "energy ceasefire," while Ukrainian drones struck oil facilities, logistics sites and data centres in Russia's St Petersburg and Leningrad region on Sunday, killing one person and injuring 15 (covered separately on this site).
