On November 3, 2026, Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, met in Beijing with Aung Kyaw Hoe, Myanmar's Minister for National Planning, Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, who was in China to attend the 11th Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Foreign Ministers' Meeting.

Wang Yi said China and Myanmar are pauk-phaw brothers sharing weal and woe and a community with a shared future that watches out for each other. In June this year, Chinese President Xi Jinping held an important meeting with Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing, who was on a state visit to China, and the two sides agreed to accelerate the building of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future. China supports Myanmar in achieving political reconciliation and supports its new government in stabilizing the situation, developing the economy, improving people's livelihoods and achieving revitalization. China will always be a strategic partner Myanmar can rely on, and stands ready to work with Myanmar to push the building of the China-Myanmar community with a shared future to go deeper and more substantive.

Wang Yi said the two sides should coordinate development and security, steadily advance key projects of the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, strengthen cooperation in energy, resources and other fields, step up the crackdown on online gambling and telecom fraud, and prevent the chaos in Myawaddy from resurging. He expressed the hope that Myanmar will take concrete measures to protect the safety of Chinese personnel, institutions and projects in Myanmar.

Aung Kyaw Hoe said Myanmar upholds the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and carries forward the traditional Myanmar-China friendship, and firmly adheres to the one-China principle. President Min Aung Hlaing's recent successful visit to China strongly advanced the development of bilateral relations. Myanmar thanked China for its assistance with post-earthquake reconstruction, and is ready to work with China to speed up the implementation of China-Myanmar Economic Corridor projects and continuously raise the level of mutually beneficial cooperation. Myanmar will work harder with China and other countries in the region to combat telecom fraud, welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in Myanmar, thanked China for upholding justice for Myanmar on international occasions, and is ready to work with China to actively push for the full success of this LMC foreign ministers' meeting.
