Follow-Up: Russian Drone Strikes Rescue Site in Komyshuvakha as Aid-Point Bombing Death Toll Reaches 55

ZAPORIZHZHIA — Ukraine's State Emergency Service said a Russian FPV drone struck the search-and-rescue site in the village of Komyshuvakha, Zaporizhzhia region, on the morning of November 8, damaging specialised rescue equipment. No rescue personnel were injured. Rescue work in the rubble of the November 2 airstrike had by then entered its seventh day.
The November 2 strike hit a former school building in the village that was being used as a humanitarian aid distribution centre and shelter. Ukraine's military intelligence agency said the death toll had risen to 55 by November 7, with around 50 people still missing. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on social media on November 8 that more people could still be trapped under the rubble and accused Russian forces of deliberately attacking the site while emergency crews were working there.
GSM has followed this incident in a series of reports: the death toll rose successively to 31, 40, 43 and 55, and one person reported missing was found alive three days after the strike.
