Update: Pennsylvania Measles Cases Rise to 1,317 Across 43 Counties

Pennsylvania's measles outbreak continues to grow, Reuters reported: confirmed cases statewide have risen to 1,317, up 31 from Monday, spanning 43 counties, with Washington County newly added. Hospitalizations rose from 247 to 251.
Health officials said that among cases with known vaccination status, only four patients had been vaccinated against measles. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has sent additional staff to assist the state.
Pennsylvania's caseload is part of a nationwide measles resurgence this year. The state health department is working with counties on contact tracing and vaccination record checks. GSM will continue to follow the outbreak. (GSM, based on reporting by Reuters)
