Follow-Up: A24 Documentary 'You Can See Everything' Earns $19.5 Million in Second Weekend; $6.1 Million Friday Sets a Documentary Record

Sunday, October 25, 2026 · Film · GSM News

A24's documentary 'You Can See Everything' grossed an estimated $19.5 million in its second weekend in North America, finishing second at the box office. Its second Friday brought in about $6.1 million, up 17.6 percent from its opening Friday and ahead of the $5.3 million second Friday of 'Fahrenheit 9/11' — the biggest second Friday ever recorded for a documentary.

The film opened on October 16 in 855 theaters with about $15 million, a per-theater average of roughly $17,543 — the strongest opening for a non-music documentary since 'Fahrenheit 9/11' in 2004. In its second week it expanded from 855 to 2,655 theaters. According to Box Office Mojo figures, the film had grossed about $31.8 million in eight days, ranking sixth among non-music documentaries in North American box-office history. Totals vary by tracker and reporting cutoff.

Directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, the film follows Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes in the weeks before she began serving a federal prison sentence. The crew lived with her for weeks, in a production spanning about three years; the film was made for about $7 million and premiered as a secret screening at the Telluride Film Festival in September. Its intimate shooting style has prompted debate about consent and subject agency, alongside strong word of mouth.
