LOS ANGELES — Counting in the Los Angeles mayor's race continued on November 6, with Mayor-elect Nithya Raman's lead growing further. In the latest count released on the evening of November 6, Raman had 53.56% of the vote to incumbent Mayor Karen Bass's 46.44%, a lead of nearly 68,500 votes. Bass conceded on the morning of November 5.

Raman made her first public appearance after the victory on the evening of November 5 at the Original Farmers Market, marking a historic win and becoming the first challenger to defeat an incumbent Los Angeles mayor since 2005. On November 6, a moving truck appeared outside the Getty House official residence in Windsor Square, and Bass, 73, left the residence in a red suit to begin roughly five weeks of transition preparations. Raman is scheduled to be sworn in on December 14.

Raman was absent from the November 6 City Council meeting, which included farewell remarks for outgoing Councilmember Curren Price. In her final weeks in office, Bass remains on duty; on November 6 she directed the Los Angeles Fire Department to preposition resources ahead of incoming Santa Ana winds.
