Russian Ballistic Missiles Strike Kyiv Overnight: Apartment Buildings and a Kindergarten Damaged, Three Injured

Friday, November 6, 2026 · World · GSM News

KYIV — Russian forces launched multiple waves of ballistic missiles at the Ukrainian capital Kyiv overnight on November 6–7. Ukraine's Air Force said at least six ballistic missiles were fired at the city within minutes shortly before 11 p.m. on November 6; alerts and explosions continued through the night, with local journalists recording a second barrage around 1 a.m. and further blasts at about 3:04 a.m. and 3:30 a.m.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote on Telegram that missile debris struck a five-story apartment building in a western district of the capital and that the facade of another residential building was damaged. The Kyiv City Military Administration said two people were injured and a building housing a kindergarten was damaged. Ukraine's State Emergency Service later updated the toll to three injured in the city, including a child, saying a two-story building on the grounds of a kindergarten in the Solomianskyi district was destroyed and several apartment buildings were damaged and caught fire. In Kyiv region, a jet-powered drone set a home ablaze and one man was hospitalized with injuries.

The attack came about two hours after President Volodymyr Zelenskiy warned in his nightly video address that Ukrainian intelligence showed Russia preparing new strikes on energy facilities, bridges across the Dnipro River and civilian infrastructure, and urged allies not to delay deliveries of Patriot air defense systems.

The barrage came three days before U.S.-led talks between Ukrainian and Russian negotiators are set to open in Abu Dhabi. Earlier the same day, Zelenskiy and Klitschko had publicly traded blame over Kyiv's severe water outage caused by the November 3 strikes, underscoring the mounting strain on the capital's air defenses and civilian services.
