Missile Hits Riyadh Airport Terminal, Many Wounded; Trump Says U.S. May Join Strikes on Houthis

Saturday, October 10, 2026 · World News · GSM News

King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh came under missile attack again on Saturday (October 10). Two regional officials told the Associated Press that a missile struck the complex housing Terminals 3 and 4 for domestic flights, wounding many; the airport was evacuated and more than a dozen ambulances rushed to the scene. Saudi Arabia's civil aviation authority confirmed "a number of injuries" and announced a temporary suspension of flight operations; flight tracker FlightAware said at least 225 flights had been cancelled at the airport over the past 24 hours.

It was the third attack on the airport this week. Thursday's (October 8) strike killed three Saudi citizens, including an airline pilot; the Houthis claimed responsibility for earlier attacks this week but had no immediate statement on Saturday's strike. The latest attack came in the week since a Saudi-led coalition launched a major offensive against the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

After the attack, President Trump told reporters outside the White House that the United States is evaluating whether to join Saudi strikes against the Houthis: "We may. We're going to look at it. We just found out about the recent attack, so we'll make a decision. We move very quickly." The U.S. mission in Saudi Arabia issued a security alert strongly urging American citizens to avoid the airport and surrounding areas. Saudi Arabia's crown prince had sought direct U.S. military intervention in September and was rebuffed, with Washington offering only intelligence and targeting assistance.
