Kansas 2026 Election Results: Senate Seat Flips Democratic for First Time Since 1932, Governor's Race Uncalled

Kansas held its midterm elections on November 3, 2026. The state's U.S. Senate seat flipped from Republican to Democratic for the first time since 1932, while the governor's race, separated so far by 5,578 votes, has not been called by the AP, and three other statewide offices are also uncalled. All four U.S. House incumbents were reelected, and Republicans lost their supermajority in the State House. Below is a summary of the statewide ballot results, published for the record.
Governor and U.S. Senator
Governor: Not yet called. Cindy Holscher (D) leads with 546,648 votes, 50.3%, over Ty Masterson (R), 541,070 votes, 49.7%, a margin of 5,578 votes. The AP lists the race as Too Early to Call.
Governor — ballots still outstanding: Fifty-one precincts have not yet reported and provisional ballots remain uncounted; mail and advance ballots postmarked before Election Day and delivered by the final mail delivery on Friday, November 6, may still be counted. Holscher has declared herself the winner and Masterson has not conceded; neither statement is an official call. Incumbent Gov. Laura Kelly (D) is term-limited, making this an open seat.
U.S. Senator: Adam Hamilton (D) received 556,414 votes, about 51%, defeating incumbent Roger Marshall (R), 503,230 votes, about 46%, with Libertarian David C. Graham at about 3%. The AP has called the race. The seat flips to the Democrats, who last won a Kansas U.S. Senate election in 1932. The state's other senator, Jerry Moran (R), was not up this year and is next up in 2028.
Other Statewide Offices
Attorney General: Not yet called. Chris Mann (D) leads incumbent Kris Kobach (R) 548,047 votes, about 51%, to 536,759 votes, about 49%, a margin of about 11,288 votes. Mann has declared himself the winner, which is not an official call.
Secretary of State: Not yet called. Pat Proctor (R) leads Jennifer Day (D) 522,175 votes, about 48%, to 511,419 votes, about 47%, with Scott E. Morgan of United Kansas at about 4%.
State Treasurer: Steven Johnson (R) won reelection; his opponent, Juan Luengo (D), has conceded.
Insurance Commissioner: Not yet called. Dan Hawkins (R) leads Dinah Sykes (D) 528,004 votes, about 49%, to 508,889 votes, about 47%.
Ballot Measures and Constitutional Amendments
Constitutional Amendment 1: Clarifies in the state constitution that only U.S. citizens are qualified to vote in Kansas (no one who is not a citizen, is under 18, or fails residency requirements is qualified). Yes 669,564 votes, 63.7% — passed, called by the AP.
U.S. House Delegation
Overview: Kansas has four U.S. House seats: three Republicans and one Democrat, unchanged from before the election. All four incumbents were reelected and no seat flipped.
District 1: Tracey Mann (R) won reelection. Called by the AP.
District 2: Derek Schmidt (R) won reelection with about 51%. Called by the AP.
District 3: Sharice Davids (D) won reelection. Called by the AP.
District 4: Ron Estes (R) won reelection. Called by the AP.
Chinese American / Asian American check: No Chinese American or Asian American was found among the four winners; Rep. Davids is Native American.
State Legislature
State Senate: No state Senate elections were held in 2026 (four-year terms; the next election is 2028). Republicans remain in control, with no flip.
State House: Republicans kept their majority with no change of control, but their caucus fell from 88 seats to 68 while Democrats rose from 37 to 57, ending the Republican supermajority. The 57 seats are the largest Democratic caucus since 1992.
All figures are semi-official results from the Kansas Secretary of State and Associated Press calls. Mail and provisional ballots are still being counted; uncalled offices list only the current leader and are not final. Final results are subject to the state canvass, due by December 1, 2026. This summary reports the results as cast by all voters, without commentary.
