Utah 2026 Election Results, the Full List: House District 1 Flips Democratic as Ben McAdams Returns to Congress

Utah voters cast their ballots in the 2026 midterm elections on November 3, and the results below are the collective choice they made. Utah had no elections this year for governor, U.S. senator or statewide executive offices; the ballot centered on four U.S. House seats and two constitutional amendments. According to the Utah Lieutenant Governor's election office semi-official count and Associated Press race calls, House District 1 flipped from Republican to Democratic as Ben McAdams won and returns to Congress, while one amendment was rejected and the other has not been called. The full list, item by item, follows.
Governor and U.S. Senator
Governor: no election this year. The incumbent is Spencer Cox (R), next up in 2028.
U.S. Senator: no election this year. The incumbents are Mike Lee (R, next up in 2028) and John Curtis (R, next up in 2030).
Other Statewide Offices
No statewide executive offices were up this year: the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, treasurer and auditor are all elected in presidential years, and none appeared on the 2026 ballot.
Ballot Measures
Constitutional Amendment A: would change how proposed constitutional amendments are published, requiring publication for 60 days before the general election in the manner set by state law instead of newspaper publication. Not yet called: the 'for' side leads with 60.2% (412,592 votes to 272,733), with about 58% counted.
Constitutional Amendment B: would have required citizen-initiated statewide measures that create or raise taxes to win at least 60% of the vote instead of a simple majority. Yes 37.7% — rejected.
No citizen initiative qualified for this year's ballot; both measures were constitutional amendments referred by the state legislature.
U.S. House
The state has 4 seats, all held by Republicans before the election. Two have been called, one Democratic and one Republican, with 2 not yet called; District 1 flipped to the Democrats, giving the party at least one seat in the delegation. No Chinese American or Asian American winners were found among the called winners or the two district leaders.
District 1: Ben McAdams (D), 128,961 votes, 71.9%, elected, flipping the seat from Republican to Democratic. Republican Riley Owen received 44,607 votes, 24.9%. McAdams served one House term from 2019 to 2021 and returns to Congress after winning the new district drawn under a court-ordered map.
District 2: not yet called. Blake Moore (R), 95,926 votes, 49.8%, leads Peter Crosby (D), 83,211 votes, 43.2%, with about 68% counted.
District 3: Celeste Maloy (R), 97,974 votes, 57.9%, reelected.
District 4: not yet called. Mike Kennedy (R), 87,002 votes, 51.9%, leads Jonny Larsen (D), 69,735 votes, 41.6%, with about 56% counted.
State Legislature
State Senate: before the election the split was 22 Republicans, 6 Democrats and 1 other out of 29 seats, with 15 seats up this year. No official call on chamber control has been made; national tallies list the chamber as a Republican hold, with final seats awaiting further counting.
State House: before the election the split was 61 Republicans and 14 Democrats out of 75 seats, all up this year. No official call has been made; tallies list a Republican hold with no sign of a flip.
All figures are from the Utah Lieutenant Governor's election office semi-official count and Associated Press calls, as of the morning of November 4. About 95% of Utah voters vote by mail and counting is expected to take more than a week, with results certified by the Lieutenant Governor's office; GSM will update this list when House Districts 2 and 4, Amendment A and the legislative results are called.
