Oregon Governor Election: Kotek Declares Victory in Re-election Bid

Tuesday, November 3, 2026 · States · GSM News

Oregon's Democratic incumbent Governor Tina Kotek declared victory in her re-election bid at about 9:30 p.m. on election night, November 3, at a celebration in Portland, defeating Republican candidate Christine Drazan and Pacific Green Party candidate Brett Smith. Oregon is in the northwestern United States, and its capital is Salem.

Taking the stage to chants from supporters, Kotek said: "I am proud to stand here as your next governor." She added: "I hope it's OK that we have four more years together and we're going to work hard to continue to make progress for the state that we love."

CBS and Decision Desk HQ have both called the race for Kotek. The latest Associated Press count showed Kotek with 717,257 votes to Drazan's 610,150, with about 67.53% of precincts reporting; the AP has not yet called the race, and Drazan has not conceded. Counting is continuing, and mail ballots postmarked by Election Day that arrive within the following seven days will still be counted; the figures are unofficial and final results are subject to certification by state election officials.

The race was a rematch of the 2022 contest between Kotek and Drazan, which Kotek won by about four percentage points. Oregon has not elected a Republican governor since 1982.
