Arkansas Governor Election: AP Calls Race for Sanders, Who Wins Re-election

The Associated Press called Arkansas's governor's race on the evening of November 3 for Republican incumbent Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who defeated Democratic candidate Fred Love and Libertarian candidate Colt Shelby to win a second four-year term. Arkansas is in the southern United States, and its capital is Little Rock.
The AP results page showed 2,729 of the state's 2,768 precincts reporting, about 98.59%, with an estimated 98.6% of votes counted; Sanders had 474,742 votes, or 53.83%; Love had 340,738 votes, or 38.64%; and Shelby had 66,373 votes, or 7.53%. Counting is continuing; the figures are unofficial and final results are subject to certification by the Arkansas Secretary of State's office.
Sanders has served as governor of Arkansas since 2023 and previously served as White House press secretary; she was first elected governor in 2022 with about 63% of the vote. Love is a state senator representing the Mabelvale area. Republican Governors Association Chair and Montana Governor Greg Gianforte issued a statement that night congratulating Sanders on her re-election.
