Wyoming 2026 Election Results: Barlow Elected Governor, Hageman Wins Senate Seat

Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · States · GSM News

Wyoming voted in the 2026 midterm elections on November 3, and the results below are the collective choice of the state's voters. According to the Wyoming Secretary of State's count and Associated Press race calls, Eric Barlow was elected governor, Harriet Hageman was elected to the U.S. Senate, Chuck Gray was elected to the U.S. House, and Republicans won every statewide office. The ballot's only statewide question, a homestead property tax exemption initiative, was rejected. The full list follows.

Governor and U.S. Senator

Governor: Eric Barlow (R, a state senator), 128,480 votes, 68.6%, elected. Gov. Mark Gordon (R) was term-limited, so this is a Republican hold. Called by the AP.

Governor, other candidates: Rebecca Bextel (Constitution Party), 31,430 votes, 16.8%; Kenneth Casner (D), 27,469 votes, 14.7%.

U.S. Senator: Harriet Hageman (R, the incumbent U.S. representative), 122,157 votes, 65.2%, elected, succeeding retiring Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R) — a Republican hold. Called by the AP.

U.S. Senate, other candidates: James Byrd (D), 65,097 votes, 34.8%. The state's other senator, John Barrasso (R), was not up this year; his seat is next contested in 2030.

Other Statewide Offices

Secretary of State: Robert Short (R), 124,924 votes, 67.8%, elected. His opponents were Bryan McCarty (D), 43,872 votes, and Tamara Trujillo (Constitution Party), 15,504 votes. Called by the AP.

State Auditor: Kristi Racines (R), 155,787 votes, reelected unopposed.

State Treasurer: Curt Meier (R), 155,009 votes, reelected unopposed.

Superintendent of Public Instruction: Steve Harshman (R), 136,744 votes, elected. His opponent Ana Cordova (D) took 45,318 votes.

In sum, Republicans won every statewide office; apart from secretary of state, individual AP call status was not separately confirmed for this section, and figures rest on the Secretary of State's unofficial count.

Ballot Questions

Initiative 1 (homestead property tax exemption): would create a homeowner property tax exemption for a primary residence equal to 50% of its assessed value (the current exemption is 25% of the first $1 million of value). Rejected: Yes 80,029 votes, 43.2%, to No 105,200 votes, 56.8%. Called by the AP.

U.S. House

Overview: the state has one seat (a single at-large district), held before and after the election by Republicans, with no flip.

At-Large District: Chuck Gray (R, the incumbent secretary of state), 99,891 votes, 54.5%, elected; the seat was vacated by Hageman's Senate run and is a Republican hold. His opponents were Lisa Kinney (D), 61,687 votes; Shawn Johnson (Libertarian), 13,665 votes; and Jeffrey Haggit (Constitution Party), 7,960 votes. Called by the AP.

Chinese American / Asian American winners: none for this seat.

State Legislature

State Senate: 31 seats, part of them up this year. Republicans kept control (a 29-2 supermajority before the election) with no flip of control; exact post-election seats await certification.

State House: 62 seats, all up this year. Republicans kept control (56-6 before the election) with no flip of control; exact post-election seats await certification.

In sum, Republicans held both chambers before and after the election and, with the governor's office held, keep their trifecta.

Counting and Certification

Figures are from the Secretary of State's unofficial count and AP calls as of the morning of November 4 (the AP estimates about 97% of the expected vote counted, with all 23 counties reporting), pending county canvasses and state certification. Final results are subject to official certification, and GSM will update this list accordingly.
