Five Reno-Area Races Too Close to Call, City Council Ward 4 Separated by 81 Votes

Washoe County's elections office reported on the morning of November 6 that about 7,000 mail ballots remained to be processed and 2,300 provisional ballots awaited eligibility review, with roughly 95% of ballots counted and five local races too close to call. The tightest is Reno City Council Ward 4, where challenger Eddie Gomez leads incumbent Meghan Ebert 5,588 to 5,507, a margin of 81 votes.
In the Sparks mayoral race, challenger Wendi Rawson leads incumbent Ed Lawson 17,294 to 17,114, a margin of 180 votes. In Washoe County Commission District 2, Democrat Marie Rodriguez leads Republican Jon Killoran 22,622 to 22,171, a margin of 451 votes. Under Nevada law, mail ballots postmarked by Election Day, November 3, and received by November 7 can still be counted; voters with signature issues had until 5 p.m. on November 6 to cure them. The county commission must certify the count by November 13, and results are updated daily at 6 p.m.
